EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Frontliners For Change’s approach emphasizes holistic, community-centered interventions that integrate protection, health, WASH, relief, and psychosocial support for displaced populations. Through the shelter project, FFC provided emergency shelters, mobile facilities, and essential services for 500 Syrian families in Bar Elias, focusing on women, children, and the elderly. By combining shelter with on-site health care, psychosocial support, and recreational activities, the project improved living conditions, promoted dignity and safety, and strengthened community resilience, reflecting FFC’s commitment to coordinated and sustainable humanitarian support.

Supporting Displaced Syrian Families through Comprehensive Shelter Services:

This project was launched in Bar Elias, Bekaa Valley, to provide emergency shelter and essential services for displaced Syrian families, with a particular focus on women, children, and the elderly.
The initiative established emergency shelters and mobile infrastructure, including bathrooms, kitchens, and a pharmacy, ensuring safe and accessible living conditions for 500 individuals.

In addition to shelter, the project distributed meals, hygiene kits, clothing, and winterization items to meet basic needs. On-site medical care and structured psychosocial support sessions were provided, while recreational and awareness activities engaged children and caregivers, promoting emotional well-being and community participation.

By integrating shelter, health, and psychosocial services, the initiative improved living conditions, reduced health risks, and strengthened community cohesion and resilience. Community-based approaches fostered trust and dignity among beneficiaries, and strong coordination with municipalities, local NGOs, and UN agencies ensured effective service delivery and accountability.

Key lessons emphasized the value of combining shelter with on-site health and PSS services to reduce barriers to access, and the importance of building local capacity to sustain essential services. The project reflects our commitment to supporting displaced populations in a holistic and coordinated manner, enhancing safety, dignity, and long-term resilience.
